volunteers plant trees for Arbor Day

CARROLLTON,
GA - Community volunteers (l-r) Edith Morehead, Lora Tate and Elenor Holmes
joined other volunteers in planting Long Leaf Pine trees on the west side
of campus of the University of West Georgia in honor of Arbor Day. More than 100 trees
were donated by Dr. Joseph Hendricks, associate professor in biology,
for planting along the Forest Drive area of campus. They represented such
groups as the Carrollton Civic Woman’s Club Conservation Department,
Little Tallapoosa Botanical Society and the Carroll County Master Gardeners,
as well as campus student organizations, in the planting.
