Louise Culver honored with reception
February
19, 2004
CARROLLTON,
GA - When you reach 100 years of age, you get to celebrate your birthday
all year! Louise Culver (center) became a centenarian in December and
was the guest of honor at a recent reception at the University of West Georgia. She served as a “house mother” on
campus for 11 years, working in Mandeville Hall, Downs Hall and Boykin
Hall. She was named an honorary member of Phi Mu Sorority during that
time and current members of the sorority surprised her with a clock and
flowers. Dr. Beheruz N. Sethna, president of UWG, presented her with a
UWG afghan, compliments of the UWG Alumni Association. Dr. John Clower,
director of residence life, gave her a residence life staff shirt. Culver
said the secret to her long life was “living among those young people
for all those years!”
