Saxophone and Percussion Symposium February 2, 2005 CARROLLTON, GA - The University of West Georgia’s Department of Music will host the first-ever UWG Saxophone and Percussion Symposium on Friday, Feb. 4, at 8:15 p.m., on the main stage of the Townsend Center for Performing Arts and on Saturday, Feb. 5, at 4 p.m., in the Townsend Center’s Black Box. Many area high school and middle school students will be coming to UWG’s campus for a series of rehearsals, master classes and concerts for this event. Friday night’s performance will feature the American premiere of Edith Lejet’s Parcours en Duo for baritone saxophone and percussion with guest percussion clinician Dr. Paul Buyer of Clemson University. The performance on Saturday will highlight the symposium saxophone and percussion ensembles as well as the UWG saxophone and percussion ensembles.
