2006 Job Expo

February 9, 2006

CARROLLTON, GA - The most difficult aspect of the college experience for many students is not final exams or roommates, but the search for a job that fits. To help students in their hunt, the Department of Career Services at the University of West Georgia will host its 2006 Job Expo in the lower level of the Food Services Building (Z-6) Thursday, Feb. 16, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The Job Expo is an event that brings dozens of prospective employers to campus and is free and open to students of all majors. The only requirement for attendance is professional dress and a resume.

Marcia Smith, Job Expo coordinator, has some advice for students seeking employment. “The earlier that students arrive, the better their chances of finding the job that they want,” said Smith. “Students should be ready to interview on the spot.”

The event will include representatives from nearly 40 different companies including Southwire, Tanner Health System, Federal Bureau of Investigation, the Georgia Department of Human Resources, UPS and the Walt Disney Corporation.

For more information on the 2006 Job Expo call 678-839-6589 or go to http://careerweb.westga.edu. Students are always welcome to stop by the Department of Career Services office in Parker Hall.
