Music student presents research at GMEA ConfeenceFebruary 20, 2006 CARROLLTON, GA - Melissa Stamps, a music education major at the University of West Georgia, presented her ongoing research project, "Choral All-State Goals and Assessment Practices," at the 2006 In-Service Conference of the Georgia Music Educators Association’s Annual Conference. The conference took place at the Savannah International Trade and Convention Center where music educators discussed recent findings from research projects and their impact on school music instruction. Stamps, a Carrollton resident, receives financial support for her research through the Student Research Assistant Program (SRAP). She traveled to Savannah with her supervising professor, Dr. Dawn Harmon McCord, who highlighted the SRAP program. The attendees expressed interest in hearing the results of her research at a future conference.
