Beta Gamma Sigma honors two March 17, 2003 CARROLLTON, GA - The University of West Georgia’s chapter of Beta Gamma Sigma recently honored Dr. Beheruz Sethna, UWG president, and Jason Kauffman, a management major at West Georgia. They were honored by the Richards College of Business during the Beta Gamma Sigma annual banquet and initiation ceremonies.
Dr. Jack Johnson, dean of the Richards College of Business, noted, “Dr. Sethna was certainly deserving of this award for the many contributions he has made to the West Georgia region since his arrival at UWG in 1994. He has enhanced the reputation of not only the Richards College of Business but also the image of our University through his efforts to improve the quality of education on our campus. We are fortunate to have a man of Beheruz Sethna’s abilities at the helm of our University.” Kauffman was presented with the Beta Gamma Sigma Award of Excellence. This award is given to the student who has a high overall grade point average and who best represents the ideals of Beta Gamma Sigma: scholarship, the advancement of education in business, and integrity. Kauffman attended West Georgia as a Presidential Scholar and has also been recognized as a Governor’s Scholar. He was a recipient of a Hope Scholarship during his four years at UWG. Kauffman plans to complete an MBA degree at Georgia State University following his graduation from West Georgia. -30- |
