Tree planted in Mathis memory

CARROLLTON,
GA - Members of the Alpha Gamma Delta Sorority at the University of West Georgia planted a cherry blossom tree in front of the Biology
Building in observance of the one-year anniversary of the death of their
chapter advisor, Dr. Jim Mathis. Dr. Beheruz Sethna (third from right),
UWG president, helped with the planting along with Rebecca and Sarah Mathis.
The sorority named Rebecca and Sarah honorary members of the chapter.
Mathis, chair of the biology department at the time of his death, was
killed in an automobile accident on March 7, 2002.
