Saxophonist Nestler is guest artist March 31, 2003 CARROLLTON, GA - Saxophonist Eric Nestler will perform as a guest artist at the University of West Georgia on Tuesday, April 8, at 8:15 p.m. in the Kathy Cashen Recital Hall of the Humanities Building.
Nestler will also conduct a master class for students in the saxophone and winds studios at 1 p.m. on the day of the concert. Nestler has been on the faculty of the University of North Texas College of Music since 1992. He was a featured soloist at both the World Saxophone Congress in Montreal, Canada, and the North American Saxophone Alliance National Convention in Tucson, Ariz. Internationally, Nestler has performed solo recitals in Cape Town and Stellenbosch, South Africa, and has traveled to Eastern Europe, where he performed several solo recitals including performances at the Franz Liszt Academy in Budapest, Hungary, the Prague Conservatory and the Leos Janacek Academy in Brno, and the Czech Republic. Last year, Nestler performed in Castlefranco, Veneto, Italy, and in China at the Central Conservatory in Beijing and the Conservatory of Music in Tianjin. He is scheduled to perform in May at Weill Recital Hall, Carnegie Hall, New York. Fouse pursues a professional career as a virtuoso pianist, an accompanist and an educator. The winner of numerous piano competitions, she has performed throughout the United States and Europe and holds degrees in piano performance from Baylor University, Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville and the University of North Texas. She has been staff accompanist for the prestigious ARD International Trumpet Competition in Munich, Germany, as well as for numerous other international competitions and festivals, including Moscow (1995), Saratov (1996), the Altenburg Competition in Bad Sackingen, Germany (1996), and Kiev (1998).
