UWG holds Visitation Day March 31, 2003 CARROLLTON, GA - University of West Georgia invites prospective students and their families to explore all aspects of University life during Visitation Day on Sunday, April 6. The UWG Jazz Combo will provide entertainment in the Health and Physical Education (HPE) Building at 1:20 p.m., prior to the Welcome Session. The Welcome Session in the HPE will begin at 1:30 p.m. featuring Dr. Beheruz Sethna, president of UWG, Keisha Wilkey, 2002 Homecoming Queen and Adam Waid, 2002 Homecoming King. From 2-3:30 p.m., an Academic Fair in the Technology-enhanced Learning Center (TLC) Atrium will spotlight various departments at the University. Following the Academic Fair, an Organizational Fair, held in the University Community Center (UCC) Room 207 A-D, will focus on many of UWG’s student activities and organizations. There will be campus tours from 2-3:45 p.m. Students and parents can take a walking tour or ride the UWG shuttle bus, and guests will also have an opportunity to visit residence halls between 2:30-4:30 p.m. The residence halls open for viewing include Bowdon, Downs, Pritchard, Roberts, Row, Strozier and Watson. From 2:30-3 p.m, advisors will provide information about financial aid in the TLC Lecture Room 1-305 and the Honors College in the TLC Lecture Room 1-303. The sessions will be repeated again from 3:30-4 p.m. Also from 3:30-4 p.m., an admissions question and answer session will be held in UCC Room 312. Later, a transfer student information session will be offered in the TLC Lecture Room 1-301 from 3:30 to 4 p.m. Also, the University Bookstore will be open from 2-5 p.m. and the Music Admissions and Scholarship Auditions will be held from 2:30-5 p.m. The Admissions Office, art exhibit gallery and Residence Life Office will all be open from 3-5 p.m. To conclude the day’s activities, a reception will be held in the UCC from 4-5 p.m. For more information, contact the UWG Office of Admissions at 770-836-6416. -30- |
