Workshops help in job search March 12, 2003 CARROLLTON, GA - The Department of Career Services at the University of West Georgia is offering a series of career workshops for students throughout the spring semester. “These workshops will help the UWG students to be successful in their job search,” said Dr. Bruce Brewer, director of Career Services. The workshop series is intended to prepare students for participation in the April 16 Job Expo, an annual recruiting event for full-time, co-op, internship and summer employment. There is no registration fee for the workshops except for the Etiquette Dinner. Dress for Success, on Thursday, March 13, at 3:30 p.m., will aid students with dressing for a job interview as well as for professional life after college. Etiquette Dinner, on Wednesday, March 26, at 5 p.m., will be a hands-on dining experience. Students will learn the proper way to hold a napkin, plate and silverware; what kinds of food to order; and how to act during a four-course etiquette dinner. There is a $7.50 fee to cover the dinner. “It is a very fun experience because we make students dress up and act like they are in a real etiquette dinner,” said Audrey Baird, workshop teacher and assistant director of Career Services. -30- |
