Episodes in Sexuality

March 12, 2004

CARROLLTON, GA - The Responsible Sexuality Committee and the Theatre Program at the University of West Georgia will sponsor the 13th annual “Episodes in Sexuality” program in the Black Box Theatre at the Townsend Center for the Performing Arts on March 15-18 at 7 p.m.

According to Shelly Elman, assistant professor and director of theatre, this program allows students to explore issues and values related to sexuality in a safe, supportive environment.

“By using the environment of theatre, students are able to find creative ways to express their views and/or feelings on certain subjects,” says Elman.

The production involves student-written, designed, acted and directed skits which represent this year’s theme, “Responsible Sexuality: More in ’04.” At the end of each performance, the audience will break into four groups for discussion with cast members and a facilitator from the Responsible Sexuality Committee.

The director of the production is Tangela Harris. The cast members include: Sandtrice Russell, Sheryland Neal, Chelsea Austin, Autumn Cole, Sabrina Lee, Spencer Pucci, Stephen Crane, Stanley Battle and Brad Campbell.

The production staff includes: Al Wessinger, Kimberly Newton, Jonathan McAnnally, Adrie Keaton, Tiffany Croft, Annette Taylor, Gillian Wilson, Stephen Reed and Matt Williams.
