Skee Week March 7, 2005 CARROLLTON, GA - The Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority (AKA) at the University of West Georgia will sponsor Skee Week, beginning March 7. Skee Week includes community service, academic programs and social events. Skee Week starts with “Tea Time On The Yard” on March 7 at 9:08 a.m. The AKA’s will be serving tea, hot chocolate and doughnuts in the academic quadrangle. Another event on March 7 is the STD Awareness Program with UWG Peer Educators called “To Live, To Learn, To Love” at 7:08 p.m. at Bonner Lecture Hall. On Tuesday, March 8, the AKA’s are sponsoring a program called “Reading to The Youth,” for AKA members only. A picture fundraiser is scheduled on March 8 at the University Community Center (UCC) between 12:08 p.m. and 5:08 p.m., sponsored by Harry’s Pictures. Career Services and the EXCEL Center are co-sponsoring the academic program, AKA: Line Up Your Future, at the Suites Community Center at 7:08 p.m. “Roll Call on The Yard” is scheduled for Wednesday, March 9, at 12:08 p.m. in the academic quadrangle. AKA is also hosting a free barbeque called “AKA-Q” at the Suites Community Center at 5:08 p.m. On Thursday, March 10, the AKA Sorority is holding a dance entitled “Dance 360 (AKA Style),” set for 8:08 p.m. at the Pavilion. Tickets are $3 in advance, $5 at the door with a dollar discount with a canned good. Skee Week will conclude on Friday, March 11 with AKA’s Night Out.
