Who's Who Event at UWG

CARROLLTON, GA - If you think the Academy Awards produce excitement in Hollywood, just wait for the first Annual Who’s Who at UWG Awards ceremony! The Student Activities Council (SAC) at the University of West Georgia is pulling out all the stops from the red carpet to the stretch Hummer for the event scheduled for Wednesday, March 16, at 7 p.m. at the Mansion.
According to Shemika Harris, assistant director of student activities, this evening is the most anticipated event for the spring.
“Taking on the same atmosphere of the Academy Awards and the Grammy’s, the purpose of this program is to celebrate the student population at the University of West Georgia,” she said. “The program will focus on awarding students for a unique characteristic they possess that embodies the personification of a typical UWG student.”
A variety of categories such as Miss Congeniality, Mr. Gallant, the Dare Devil Award, Mr. and Miss Hotness, the Student Leader of the Year Award, and many others will be highlighted. The different categories and nominees are posted at the SAC voting table outside the University Community Center (UCC) from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. until March 4. Students may vote for their favorite nominees and join SAC at this location.
