Honors Day RecitalMarch 27, 2006 CARROLLTON, GA - Students and faculty in the University of West Georgia Department of Music will celebrate the annual Honors Day Recital and Academic Awards Ceremony on Wednesday, March 29, at 3:30 p.m. in Kathy Cashen Recital Hall. The event is part of the university-wide Honors Day celebration that showcases undergraduate student performers and academic award winners. The Honors Recital will take place immediately after the academic awards presentations. The Honors Recital features ten students selected by audition to perform works for voice, piano, horn, saxophone and percussion. The performers are Rose Blanchard of Austell; Kerri Harshaw, Rebekah Hogsed and Cory Speakman of Lawrenceville; Daniel Gray of Loganville; Phylicia McCutchen of Marietta; Chad Sims of Buchanan, Williams, Cash and Jacks. Academic award winners are Melissa Huckeba Stamps of Carrollton, Music Faculty Award; Emily Cash of Lawrenceville, Mary Lou Munn Award; Matthew Bass of Austell, Marching Band Leadership Award; Stacy Gay of Carrollton, Larry Teal Saxophone Award; Erin Williams of Stockbridge, Carrollton Lit Mu Club Award; Elizabeth Jacks of Carrollton, Genevieve Reynolds Piano Pedagogy Award; and Daniel Gray of Loganville, Gordon Watson Award.
