SBDC names new business consultantMarch 6, 2006 CARROLLTON, GA - The Small Business Development Center (SBDC), located on the University of West Georgia campus in Carrollton, welcomed staff member RuthAnn Carlton-Young as the center’s new business consultant. The SBCD offers free consulting services for small businesses and startups in Carroll, Douglas, Haralson, Heard and Coweta counties. Carlton-Young, a Mississippi native and Villa Rica resident, is pleased about making her way back to the south. “This opportunity at the Small Business Development Center is particularly special because it allows me to assist businesses in my hometown,” said Carlton-Young. Carlton-Young earned a bachelor’s degree in history from Texas Tech University and a master’s degree in business management from Troy State University. She recently assisted Headquarters Air Force Space Command in the development of a Geographic Information System (GIS) at Peterson Air Force Base in Colorado.
