Richards College of Business Visionary EndowmentMarch 28, 2006 CARROLLTON, GA - University of West Georgia senior Rob Dial of Woodstock recently became the first undergraduate student to make a pledge to the Richards College of Business (RCOB) Visionary Endowment.
Dial, 30, has been a part-time student at UWG since 1994. He’ll graduate this May with a bachelor’s degree in business. Dial majored in finance and said he made the donation and pledge to the RCOB Visionary Endowment fund to honor a favorite professor, Dr. Joan C. Hubbard. “Dr. Hubbard always took an interest in her students,” said Dial. “And I am one of many she helped. We have stayed in touch over the years. She is an amazing educator and friend.” Dial took managerial reporting, contemporary management and management of cultural differences with Hubbard and credits her with his graduation achievement and with his professional life. He works as a distributor research analyst at the Financial Shared Services at Coca Cola North America. Hubbard is semi-retired and is an executive lecturer at the University of North Texas. “I hope to see the endowment be so successful that we are celebrating not only the five-year goal, but a ten-year goal of $1,000,000,” said Dial. “If there is anything that students can take away from my experience it is to never give up. If a person will focus on their goal and make a few sacrifices along the way, anything can be accomplished.” For more information on the RCOB Visionary Endowment, call 678-839-6467. -30- |
