Excel course offered April 10, 2003 CARROLLTON, GA - If you work with numbers, learning how to efficiently use Microsoft Excel is a must. The University of West Georgia Department of Continuing Education will offer a daylong Excel Basics class on Tuesday, April 22, to help people like you. Microsoft Excel is a software program which gives professionals the tools they need to manage critical business data, and everyday users the power to get the most out of their information. Excel Basics will offer an overview of the program from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the Computer Lab in the basement of Ingram Library. Participants will learn to create workbooks with the most commonly used formulas, use the autofill for numbers and text, employ named ranges and cells, double-check their work without creating additional formulas, format spreadsheets in less than 30 seconds, and produce charts. Excel Basics will be taught by a local instructor whom students can contact after the class for technical assistance if needed. Each student will take home a book of step-by-step instructions, complete with screen shots, to use as a reference. The class is packed with shortcuts, tricks and tips and moves quickly. The cost is $95. To get the most out of the class, participants should be comfortable with basic computer skills.
