Wireless cards available from ITS April 25, 2003 CARROLLTON, GA - Information Technology Services (ITS) at the University of West Georgia is offering a new service to students who would like to use their laptop computers to access the Internet while on campus. ITS will provide 3Com Wireless Network Cards and Odyssey Client Software for a time limit of five hours to enable students to use their laptops to access the Internet from several locations on campus. Students must present a UWG ID to borrow the cards, which can be obtained from several service centers including Cobb Hall, Room 122; Boyd Building, Room 106; University Community Center (UCC) Computer Lab; and Learning Resources in the Geography Building. The Service Centers will install Odyssey Client Software on each student’s computer which will enable the student to use the wireless network cards on their computers. No appointment is necessary, but because of a limited amount of cards, students can reserve a card. The wireless cards can be used in the Learning Resources Center, Cobb Hall, Ingram Library, UCC, Technology-enhanced Learning Center, Richard’s College of Business, Boyd Building and the Honors College. According to SITS, this service was created to improve the technological environment available to UWG students.
