Promotions & tenure announced April 24, 2003 CARROLLTON, GA - The Board of Regents of the University System of Georgia recently announced its promotion and tenure approvals for the University of West Georgia faculty members. The following associate professors have been promoted to professor: Dr. Ronald Best, accounting and finance; Dr. Gus Douvanis, educational leadership and professional studies; Dr. Swarna Dutt, economics; Dr. J. Harrison McCraw, accounting and finance; Dr. Alexa North, management and business systems; and Dr. Spencer Slattery, chemistry. Dr. Diane Sharp, foreign languages and literature, was promoted from assistant professor to associate professor. Several assistant professors were promoted to associate professor and also granted tenure: Dr. Sharmistha Basu-Dutt, chemistry; Dr. John Blair, foreign languages and literature; Dr. James Dillon, psychology; Dr. Eric Dodson, psychology; Dr. Cathleen Doheny, curriculum and instruction; Dr. Janet Donohoe, English and Philosophy; Dr. Cher Hendricks, educational leadership and professional studies; Dr. Denise Overfield, foreign languages and literature; Dr. Marjorie Snipes, sociology, anthropology and criminology; Dr. Christopher Tabit, biology; and Dr. William Wieneke, media and instructional technology. Also being granted tenure are: Dr. Charles Clark, history; Dr. Marie Holbein, curriculum and instruction; Christopher Huff, library; Dr. Mark Kunkel, psychology; Dr. Bruce Landman, mathematics; and Dr. Partha Ray, chemistry. -30- |
