Braves' Supernight set for May 15

CARROLLTON, GA - The 2003 Rhubarb Jones Super Night, which benefits University of West Georgia athletic teams, is quickly approaching. The event will be held on Thursday, May 15, in the Food Services Building.
Entertainment
for the evening will be provided by comedian Maryellen Hooper, who was
named best female standup comedian at last year’s American Comedy
Awards. She has also appeared on the Jay Leno Show and is a regular at
the Improv and Comedy House in Los Angeles. She will be joined by Master
of Ceremonies Rhubarb Jones, UWG alumnus and morning radio personality
at Eagle 106.7 in Atlanta.
Super Night will begin at 5:30 p.m. with a silent auction and an open bar and appetizers hosted by Publix and Morgan Oil Company. Outback Steakhouse will cater the Las Vegas Dinner Show, which will be accompanied by a live auction sponsored by Banks Oil, Scott Evans Chrysler•Dodge•Jeep and Nissan Dealerships, Red Carpet Travel, and Citizens Bank and Trust.
Auction items include something of interest for the entire family such as a weekend escape for two to the Goldstrike Casino Resort in Robinson, Mississippi; tickets to Zoo Atlanta; a spa package donated by Spa Concepts of Carrollton and much more. Baseball and football memorabilia will be auctioned as well.
In addition to the auction, Super Night will be announcing the winner of a raffle for the grand prize of five days and four nights at Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino in Las Vegas. Second place prize is a $500 grocery certificate from Publix. Third place prize is a catered party from Sonny’s Pit Bar-B-Q. Raffle tickets are available for purchase prior to Super Night for $10 each at the UWG Athletic Office.
Single tickets to attend Super Night are $90, tables for eight are $720 and tables for 10 are $900.
