Wind symphony to perform April 3, 2003 CARROLLTON, GA - The newly formed University of West Georgia Winds and the UWG Wind Symphony will be performing on Thursday, April 17, at 8:15 p.m. in the Carrollton Cultural Arts Center. Admission is free and the public is welcome to attend. This will be the inaugural performance of the West Georgia Winds, an ensemble of UWG faculty, selected students and professional musicians, who will perform together on a regular basis. The concert will feature the world premier of Scott Hawkinson’s “Concerto for Alto Saxophone and Wind Ensemble,” with Dr. John Bleuel, assistant professor of music, as saxophone soloist.
