Access Basics offered April 26, 2004 CARROLLTON, GA - Did you know that more information was produced in the 30 years between 1965 and 1995 than in the 5,000 years preceding 1965? Word has it that the amount of information in the world is doubling every five years. How will we handle all this information? You can learn to handle it in an Access database through “Access Basics,” an upcoming continuing education course at the University of West Georgia’s Newnan Center. The term “database” is used to describe any collection of information organized so that additions, changes and processing of data are possible. Access is a common database management system within the Microsoft Office Suite that makes these tasks easier. On Wednesday, May 5, the six-hour “Access Basics” course will help database beginners master Access functions, including creating tables and defining fields, adding records to a database and building custom reports for retrieving information. Basic computer knowledge is recommended, and the course is suitable for business professionals as well as home users. The course will be taught from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. in UWG’s Newnan Center, 7 Solar Circle, just off Amlajack Blvd. The fee is $109 and includes all materials and handouts.
