Honors Convocation slated for April 7th

CARROLLTON, GA - Exceptional students at the University of West Georgia will be recognized during the Honors Day Convocation on Wednesday, April 7, from 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. in the Townsend Center.
Award winners are based on academic achievements, and are selected by academic departments, colleges and organizations. There will be approximately 70 students recognized at the awards ceremony. Classes between 1 and 4 p.m. will be cancelled to allow faculty and students to attend.
“We have some extraordinary students at West Georgia, and the Convocation is our public way of recognizing and celebrating their achievements,” said Dr. Donald Wagner, dean of the Honors College and director of special programs.
The UWG Honors College provides students with advanced courses and through the small classes, students receive greater individual attention and greater opportunities for class discussion.
