Online Courses available April 14, 2004 CARROLLTON, GA - Do you need to pick up a new job skill, dream of improving your finances or just feel like exploring a new hobby, but you can’t seem to find classes that fit your schedule? The University of West Georgia’s Department of Continuing Education offers online courses on more than 200 topics that could help make your dream a reality. With online classes, anyone has the opportunity to learn on their own schedule, with the same personalized assistance available in a traditional classroom. Twelve lessons are presented with each six-week course. Depending on the course topic, students can read lecture notes, post to the class message board and complete assignments online. Feedback from instructors is gladly provided and shared among students. Instructors are experts in their fields and are enthusiastic about their subject material. Courses are grouped in 30 topic areas ranging from computers to family life and personal enrichment. Titles include “Fast Track Fund Raising,” “Pleasures of Poetry,” “Merrill Ream Speed Reading,” “Jungian Philosophy” and “Buy or Lease Your Car Like a Pro.” Classes are usually priced around $75.
