"PhotoSuite" course offered April 6, 2004 CARROLLTON, GA - Digital photography is liberating! It gives everyone the ability to edit and improve photos without the hassle of a darkroom. To help photographers take advantage of that flexibility, the University of West Georgia’s Department of Continuing Education is offering a “PhotoSuite” course on two Saturday mornings beginning April 24, from 9 a.m. to noon. Unlike many photo editing programs, which are expensive and designed primarily for professionals, “PhotoSuite” is a program for people who want a variety of features and capabilities, but who don’t want to spend a lifetime learning to produce remarkable photos. The software can be used to create unique personalized projects such as 360-degree panoramas, slide shows, greeting cards, party invitations and more. Course participants will learn how to use special effects to create professional-style photos that can be incorporated into albums, key chains, calendars and more. “PhotoSuite” software also offers editing tools that can be used to restore old, torn or faded photos; remove red-eye, scratches, blemishes or wrinkles; or colorize black and white photos. Basic computer skills are needed for the course, which is suitable for most ages. It is suggested that students bring digital photos to class; however, it is not required. The course is $59 and will be held in the Computer University Lab, located in the basement of the Ingram Library.
