Promotion and tenure approvals announced April 27, 2004 CARROLLTON, GA - The Board of Regents of the University System of Georgia recently announced its promotion and tenure approvals for University of West Georgia faculty members. The following associate professors have been promoted to professor: Dr. Diane Boothe, curriculum and instruction; Dr. Stanley Caress, political science and planning; Dr. Larry Frazier, music; Carol Goodson, library; and Dr. Faye McIntyre, marketing and real estate. Several assistant professors were promoted to associate professor, including: Dr. Muriel Cormican, foreign languages and literature; Dr. Rebecca Dodge, geosciences; Dr. Florence Ferguson, sociology and criminology; Dr. Thomas Gainey, management and business systems; Dr. Thomas Garcia, music; Dr. Andrew Ivester, geosciences; Perry Kirk, art; Dr. Martha Larkin, special education and speech language pathology; Dr. Elena Mustakova-Possardt, psychology; and Dr. Lawrence Schor, psychology. A dozen faculty members were granted tenure: Cormican, Dodge, Ferguson, Gainey, Garcia, Ivester, Kirk, Larkin, Mustakova-Possardt, Schor, Dr. Michael Hirlinger, political science and planning; and Dr. Laurie Taylor, nursing. -30- |
