Jacki Dixon joins Development & Alumni April 15, 2005
Dixon served for nine years as the executive director of the Waterways Association of Pittsburgh, regularly meeting with U.S. Congressional members to increase federal appropriations for inland navigation projects. The total construction authorized during her tenure in Pittsburgh was approximately $1 billion. She also coordinated the Pittsburgh Maritime Association’s scholarship program. Andy Leavitt, associate vice president for development and alumni relations, is pleased to welcome Dixon to the staff. “Jacki brings a diversity of experiences working with foundations, governmental agencies and corporations to this very important position in University Development,” he noted. Dixon will direct the corporate and foundation relations program for securing private support on behalf of UWG and the West Georgia Foundation, Inc. She will also serve as the major gift officer for the Richards College of Business and she will direct strategic communications for corporate, foundation and RCOB prospects. Dixon earned a Bachelor of Science degree in social sciences from California State Polytechnic University with graduate study in elementary education. She has teaching experience in California, Utah and Pennsylvania. Dixon lives in Villa Rica with her husband, Les. She has three grown children and one granddaughter.
