Spring International Film Festival April 6, 2005 CARROLLTON, GA - The University of West Georgia’s International Film Series Committee will present the Spring 2005 International Film Festival from April 13 to 15. The theme of the series is “Love and Loss,” and it will feature five prize-winning films in three days. The festival will begin at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, April 13, in the Technology-enhanced Learning Center (TLC), Room 1-301, with the French film “He Loves Me, He Loves Me Not,” which is the story of a couple’s deteriorating relationship shown from the perspective of both people. This film will be followed at 8:15 p.m. by the South Korean “Oasis,” a tale of love between a naïve ex-convict and a girl afflicted with cerebral palsy. On Thursday, April 14, in the TLC, Room 1-303, the Italian film “The Son’s Room” will focus on the profound emotional trauma experienced by a psychoanalyst and his family after the sudden loss of a son in a scuba diving accident. The film series will wrap up on Friday, April 15, with two films shown in the TLC, Room 1-301. At 3 p.m., the German film “Aimée and Jaguar” will relate the story of two women who fall in love in Nazi Germany, and at 6 p.m. the Indian film “The Festival” will follow two sisters who must deal with the tensions that arise between family members during a Bengalese festival. This free film series is sponsored by the departments of English and Foreign Languages and Literatures. Pizza will be served between the films on April 13 and 15.
