Spring Visitation Day April 13, 2005 CARROLLTON, GA - Have you found what you are looking for in a University? If you want individualized attention, educational opportunities in a wide-range of academics and a safe, supportive learning environment, then look no more. Prospective students and their parents are invited to Visitation Day at the University of West Georgia scheduled for Sunday, April 17. The UWG Jazz Percussion Group will provide entertainment in the Health and Physical Education (HPE) Building at 1:15 p.m. prior to the welcome session. The welcome session in the HPE will begin at 1:30 p.m. featuring Dr. Beheruz Sethna, president of UWG, and Nichole Dyer, UWG Homecoming Queen. The Academic Fair will spotlight various departments at the University from 2-3:30 p.m. A Department/Organizations fair from 2-4 p.m. will focus on many of UWG’s student activities, organizations and departmental services. The Organizations Fair will take place in the University Community Center (UCC) Room 207 A-D and the Academic Fair will be located in the Technology-enhanced Learning Center (TLC) atrium. There will be campus tours from 2-3:45 p.m. Students and parents can take a walking tour or ride a bus. Guests will also have an opportunity to visit residence halls between 2:30-4:30 p.m. The residence halls open for viewing include Bowdon, Downs, Row, Strozier, Watson and the University Suites. Advisors will provide information about financial aid in TLC Lecture Room 1-305 and about the Honors College in TLC Lecture Room 1-303 from 2:30-3 p.m. The sessions will be repeated again from 3:30-4 p.m. At the same time, an admissions information session will be held in TLC Lecture Room 1203 and a transfer student information session will be offered in TLC Lecture Room 1-301. The Campus Bookstore will be open from 2-5 p.m. The Admissions Office and Residence Life Office, located in Mandeville Hall, will be open from 3-5 p.m. The Music Admissions and Scholarship Auditions will be from 3:00-5 p.m. at the Humanities Building. To conclude the day’s activities, a reception will be held in UCC room 311/312 from 3:30-5 p.m. Students may register on site Sunday at the TLC and HPE buildings at noon or by contacting the Admissions Office at 678-839-5600. -30- |
