CARROLLTON,
GA - The University of West Georgia was the host for nine educators from
India involved in a collaborative program for Educational Leadership.
These educators represent a variety of colleges and schools in the city
of Mumbai (Bombay), India. UWG's Department of Continuing Education has
developed a 90-hour certificate program in collaboration with the Hyderbad
(Sind) National Collegiate Board and the Bombay Teachers Training College
in Mumbai. A portion of the course is completed on the campus of UWG.
Indian educators observe actual classes from the College of Education,
the Richards College of Business, and the Department of Chemistry, interacting
with professors and students. They visited Carrollton Elementary School,
Jonesville Middle School, and Carrollton High School to observe and discuss
strategies for school improvement with American educators and students.
