UWG Staff Recognized

CARROLLTON,
GA - The University of West Georgia recognized eight staff members with
2003 Divisional Awards of Excellence and Employee of the Year Awards at
its annual Staff Appreciation Luncheon in May. Nominated by staff and
faculty throughout the University and selected by committees appointed
by the vice presidents of UWG’s four divisions, winners were chosen
in two categories for each division: exempt (monthly paid) employees and
non-exempt (bi-weekly paid) employees. Divisional award winners were (L-R)
Lucretia Gibbs, Division of Academic Affairs; Doyle Folds and Danny Duke,
Division of Business and Finance; Barbara Chowns and Cheri McDonald, Division
of Student Services; Wendy Pledger and Eddie Rogers, Division of University
Advancement; and (not pictured) Helen Chambers, Division of Academic Affairs.
In
addition, two Employees of the Year were chosen for recognition from among
the divisional award winners. Chambers was presented the Pat Hughes Employee
of the Year Award in the exempt category, and Folds was named Employee
of the Year in the non-exempt category. In reward for their exceptional
work, the divisional winners each received a $100 supplement to their
paychecks, and the Employees of the Year each received a $200 supplement
and a reserved parking space for one year.
