Dr. Sethna appointed to Commission on Colleges

CARROLLTON, GA - The Southern Association of Colleges and Schools has appointed Dr. Beheruz N. Sethna, president of the University of West Georgia, as a member of the Commission on Colleges.
As
a Commissioner, Sethna is one of a 77-member body elected to represent
approximately 780 institutions which are members of the Commission on
Colleges. The Commissioners determine Commission policy, review and make
decisions regarding the accreditation of institutions, and do the initial
review for any proposed dues changes or modifications to the criteria
of the Commission.
Each Commission member is assigned to serve on one of the Committees on Compliance and Reports. It is the responsibility of the Committees on compliance and reports to evaluate a variety of institutional reports and to formulate recommendations regarding institutions and their status with the commission on colleges.
Sethna is filling an at-large vacancy with his term effective immediately. This term concludes in December 2005 and at that time, he is eligible for election to a three-year term.
