2004 MBA Competition May 7, 2004
Brian Bussey, corporate pilot for ChevronTexaco, Aircraft Operations, was a member of the team. Bussey is a West Georgia student who recently graduated from the program. The competition allows students to work in a consulting capacity with real companies facing the need for corporate renewal. “When a real problem comes up, you can’t just put the textbook away,” said Michael Brooks, public relations chair of the Georgia-Atlanta chapter who introduced the student teams. “You have to deal with it.” Bussey and his teammates worked with a Georgia-based manufacturer and marketer of children’s wear products. Workers in the textile industry account for about 25 percent of manufacturing jobs in Georgia. The WebMBA® team competed as part of its Business Strategy course, the “capstone” that marks the completion of the program. The
