Post Master's Certificate Program in Nursing May 11, 2004 CARROLLTON, GA - The Nursing Department at the University of West Georgia announces new post-master’s certificate programs in Nursing Education and Health Systems Leadership. According to Dr. Kathryn Grams, chair of the Department of Nursing, “The Nursing Education Certificate Program is particularly important as it will prepare advanced practice nurses to teach in schools of nursing and help alleviate the faculty shortage in Georgia.” Admission is limited to registered nurses licensed in Georgia with an earned master’s degree in nursing from an NLNAC or CCNE accredited program. The certificate requires 12-13 semester hours of coursework and can be completed in three semesters of part-time study. It is designed for individuals working full-time. Internet access is required as the coursework is a blend of online and face-to-face instruction. For more information concerning these certificate programs, contact Dr. Laurie Taylor, Professor and Coordinator of the Graduate Program, in the Department of Nursing at 770-836-6552. -30- |
