Special Education Teacher of the Year

CARROLLTON,
GA - University of West Georgia graduate Rene Seals (right) was
honored recently by the UWG Department of Special Education and Speech-Language
Pathology and the University chapter of the National Student Speech-Language
Hearing Association (NSSLHA) for being named the 2003-04 Newton County
Teacher of the Year. NSSLHA President Adrienne Jones presented her with
a clock in recognition of her accomplishments. Seals, who teaches speech
at Middle Ridge Elementary School in Covington, was selected by committee
for the system-wide teaching honor through a competitive process that
included an essay, interview and teaching observation. She earned her
Bachelor of Science in Education degree (cum laude) and Master of Education
degree in speech-language pathology at UWG.
