New Chancellor visits UWG
May 15, 2006
CARROLLTON,
GA - Erroll B. Davis, Jr., chancellor of the University System of Georgia
(USG), spent the day visiting the University of West Georgia campus. The
visit is part of a statewide tour that began in February and, when finished
in mid-June, will cover 35 public colleges and universities in the USG.
His visits allow him to do “active listening” he told an audience
at a press conference held on the UWG campus. “I’ve been speaking
with everyone: faculty, staff, students and community leaders and asking
what their expectations are,” said Davis. “I’ll sift
through the information and come up with directional changes.” Davis
described UWG as having academic excellence on a shoestring budget. Davis
assumed the duties as chancellor in February.
