Falcons' Vick hosts camp at UWG
June
24, 2004
CARROLLTON,
GA - Put some meat into it, Vick!” Atlanta Falcons quarterback Michael
Vick throws a pass to one of the participants in the first football camp
Vick has sponsored. Close to 200 boys ages 7-17 spent four days on the
campus of the University of West Georgia to get practical coaching
tips from Vick and other NFL players and coaches. Vick said hosting the
“Michael Vick Experience” was his opportunity to give back.
“I remember going to camps when I was 11 or 12 years old and starring
in disbelief at real football players,” Vick said. “They inspired
me to make the NFL my dream.” When the kids urged Vick to throw
them a pass like he does in a Falcons game, he laughed, “I just
couldn’t do that! I had to remember to back off and spare them!”
