Library Online VideoconferenceJune 15, 2006 CARROLLTON, GA - An online videoconference that will bring together professionals from libraries, museums and public broadcasting companies is scheduled at the Ingram Library at the University of West Georgia on Monday, June 19, from 12:30 to 3 p.m. Lorene Flanders, director of University Libraries at UWG, is coordinating the event. The Community Collaboration Videoconference II is an initiative of the Partnership for a Nation of Learners and is designed to offer an exchange of ideas and improved relationships between the organizations. Anyone who wishes to follow the conference live can log on at mms://mediam 1.gpb.org/GPB-Education-Live. Representatives from Georgia Public Broadcasting, the Digital Library of Georgia, the Georgia Association of Museums and Galleries and professionals from a variety of archives, museums and libraries throughout Georgia will participate in the event. Other participants include staff and faculty from several campus centers and departments including the Center for Public History, the Department of Mass Communications and Theatre Arts and Georgia’s Political Heritage Program. The conference is designed to encourage museums, libraries, archives and public broadcasters to work together to address locally identified educational needs and opportunities. Topics for discussion will include forming partnerships, grant applications, designing projects and future professional development.
