Paving to begin on West Georgia DriveJuly 5, 2006 CARROLLTON, GA - Traffic around the University of West Georgia’s campus will be affected beginning the week of July 10 as West Georgia Drive is repaved. According to Lynn Agan, director of campus planning and development, this collaborative project of the university, the City of Carrollton and the Department of Transportation is a much needed improvement for the campus. Flagmen will be directing traffic while the work is taking place between 7:30 a.m. and 4 p.m. daily. Agan noted that while there will be traffic delays, the road will not be completely blocked. “The parallel parking located along West Georgia Drive will be blocked off, section by section, as the work progresses,” Agan pointed out. “In addition to a newly paved road, the project will include the installation of a turning lane at the west entrance to campus to further ease traffic delays.” For more information, contact Agan at 678-839-6377. -30- |
