Employees receive Customer Service Training

June 22, 2006

CARROLLTON, GA - More than 200 representatives in the Division of Business and Finance at the University of West Georgia attended a Customer Service Awareness seminar. Developmental Strategies, Inc., presented the two-day seminar on the university campus.

The purpose of the educational seminar was to allow time for UWG staff to engage in discussions on personal experiences with good and bad customer service, to recommend methods to improve consistency in customer service and to promote and reinforce ongoing customer service performance in the division. A campus-wide survey conducted in 2005 was the impetus for the seminar.

Representatives from the Department of Public Safety, Business Information Technology Services (BITS), Human Resources, Budget Services, Purchasing and Payroll attended the seminar. William Gauthier, vice president for the Division of Business and Finance, said the training would benefit everyone on campus.

“The information gathered from the two-day training will be reviewed as quickly as possible,” said Gauthier. “Many of the ideas that were suggested have possibilities that will need to be explored. I want to thank all those in attendance for their willingness to be open to this type of training. Not only has it been beneficial to the Business and Finance Division, but to the university, our customers and our employees.”
