UWG Tag Deadline Extended July 10, 2003 CARROLLTON, GA - The deadline has been extended to order the new University of West Georgia specialty license plate. The license plate will be available next year if at least 500 applications for the UWG design are made before July 25 of this year.
Dr. Beheruz Sethna, UWG president, reports that there has been great response to this initiative to promote the University but the minimum number of 500 applications has not been met yet. “The UWG tag will give the University visibility everywhere the owners go,” Sethna pointed out. “This is an excellent means of showing support and displaying pride in having a relationship with this great institution!” All applications for the new tag, which include a $25 fee, should be submitted to the UWG Alumni House, Carrollton, GA 30118 by July 25. The University will then submit them to the Department of Motor Vehicles by the deadline. Applications are available on the University’s web site at www.tag.westga.edu. While the commemorative tag will need renewal each year at a cost of $25, it is only the first year that will determine whether UWG will be allowed to have its own tag. If someone wants to revert to a non-personalized tag in the future, UWG will still be allowed to keep its tag as long as the 500 minimum are ordered this year.
