Athletics scholarship created at UWG

CARROLLTON,
GA - The
Stephen C. Anthony Citizenship-Athletics Scholarship has been created
at the University of West Georgia by Stephen C. Anthony (r), a 1973 UWG
graduate and former track team member. The scholarship will be awarded
to a deserving student athlete majoring in political science, Anthony’s
major field of study. Currently president and owner of Anthony Consulting,
Anthony has worked for the State Legislature and in 1995, was appointed
executive director of the State Democratic Party. In this position, he
worked closely with Billy Payne in securing state support and funding
for the '96 Olympics. Anthony and his wife, Cathy, reside in Atlanta.
A member of the UWG Atlanta Alumni Task Force (AATF), Anthony shares the
announcement of his endowed scholarship with AATF chair Matt Echols.
