Student employee awards

CARROLLTON,
GA - The
University of West Georgia awarded Toma Omonuwa (second from right) from
Douglasville and Eliska Threet (second from left) from Dalton the Student
Employees of the Year award. The Office of Career Services sponsors the
annual competition and each recipient received a plaque and a check for
$100. Omonuwa worked in the Department of Chemistry as a chemistry workshop
leader, serving as a tutor and a supplemental instructional leader. Threet
was employed with the Office of Undergraduate Admissions as a campus tour
guide and consistently received positive comments from co-workers, prospective
students and parents. On hand for the presentation were Dr. Melanie McClellan
(l), vice president for student services, and Denise Jones (r) with UPS,
sponsor of the Student Employee of the Year luncheon.
