Fireworks scheduled for school opening

CARROLLTON, GA - The University of West Georgia’s “Opening of School” fireworks display is scheduled for Sunday, Aug. 17. The fireworks show will begin at approximately 9 p.m. and the public is invited to campus to watch the display. In keeping with a 20-year tradition, the display will last about 20 minutes and is part of week-long welcome back activities for the University’s students.
