EXCEL Center presents "Real UWG" August 29, 2003 CARROLLTON, GA - The EXCEL Center for Academic Success, taking a lead from the popular reality TV format, is presenting a series of 13 student seminars called “Real UWG” for the fall semester. The seminars are geared to help students with “real” problems they may face in their University career. “Real UWG” is this year’s take on the center’s annual series designed to help students deal with a variety of subjects, including test-taking skills, note taking, stress management and career advice. Each “episode” is designed to provide tips and techniques to help students do better in class. The first session, titled “Welcome to the Real World, UWG,” will take place Wednesday, Sept. 3, at 4 p.m. in Room 312 of the University Community Center (UCC). The Excel Center is a department committed to the promotion of academic success through programming to all UWG students. Other topics in the series include “Time Management for Everyone” and “How to Read and Conquer Textbooks.” The sessions will be every Tuesday and Wednesday from 4 to 5 p.m. in the UCC.
