Target store provides temporary parking August 18, 2003 CARROLLTON, GA - To help ease the parking congestion on campus during the first six weeks of fall semester, commuter students at the University of West Georgia can park in the Target parking lot in McIntosh Plaza and ride a shuttle to campus. According to Tom Mackel, director of UWG’s Public Safety, participating students will receive a coupon for a free lunch at Z-6. The shuttle runs from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday, leaving the Target parking lot on the half hour. The shuttle will drop off and pickup at the UCC. A new parking lot is currently under construction on campus and once it is open, almost 400 additional spaces will be available. Completion of the lot was delayed due to excessive rain during the summer months, Mackel noted. “We appreciate Target's willingness to work with us to provide temporary parking as the University expands,” Mackel said. The Target shuttle service will begin August 20 and will run through the end of September. For additional information, contact the Department of Public Safety at 770-836-6742. -30- |
