Boldt receives EXCEL award August 27, 2004 CARROLLTON, GA - Dr. David Boldt, associate professor and chair of the Department of Economics at the University of West Georgia, received the First-Year Student Advocate Award from the University’s EXCEL Center for Academic Success during the fall general faculty meeting. The award is given annually to a faculty member who provides exceptional support to first-year students. “Dr. Boldt received the award this year because of his outstanding service to first-year students both within his department and in the EXCEL Center, where he volunteers at least 10 hours a semester to advise undeclared students,” said EXCEL Center Director Cheryl Rice, who presented the award.
