Fireworks welcome students back to campus

CARROLLTON, GA - The University of West Georgia’s annual “Opening of School” fireworks display is scheduled for Sunday, Aug. 21, beginning at approximately 9 p.m.
The fireworks are shot from the intramural field area on Perimeter Drive and the public is welcome to come to campus for an unobstructed view of the show. In keeping with a 22-year tradition, the display will last about 20 minutes and is part of week-long welcome back activities for the university’s students.
