Athens Alumni Reunion

CARROLLTON, GA - The University of West Georgia Alumni Association is going “On the Road” to host an alumni reception on Thursday, Sept. 25, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Athens Holiday Inn at the corner of Broad and Lumpkin streets.

“On the Road” brings West Georgia to its alumni and features updates about the University. The program will feature noted author and West Georgia alumnus Terry Kay, class of 1957. Kay will discuss his journeys as an author as well as his latest novel, The Valley of Light.

“Our ‘On the Road’ regional receptions are a popular feature with alumni,” said Frank Pritchett, assistant director of alumni services. “It gives alumni an opportunity to learn more about their alma mater, hear interesting speakers, and discover other alumni living in their region.”

Other “On the Road” locations have included Valdosta, Albany, Cobb County, Douglass County, Gwinnett County, Metro-Atlanta, Fayetteville and St. Simons. These receptions are not fund-raising events — just good food and drink with your friends, Pritchett pointed out.
Representatives from the UWG Admissions Office will also be present for those wishing to pick up recruitment materials for interested high school juniors and seniors. To RSVP or for more information, contact Pritchett at 770-836-6582 or alumni@westga.edu.
