SGA student concern days September 15, 2003 CARROLLTON, GA - The Student Government Association at the University of West Georgia will host its Student Concern Days on Tuesday and Wednesday, Sept. 23-24. This annual event allows students to voice their concerns to the SGA and make suggestions for improving the University. The event usually only lasts for one day, but this year SGA wanted to give students more convenience in voicing their opinions. Booths will be set up at various locations on campus each day from 11a.m. to 3 p.m. so that students can come by and fill out concern forms. Student concerns will be addressed during a “Meet the Administration” session on Wednesday, Oct. 8, in which University administration as well as community leaders, including Carrollton Mayor Gerald Pilgrim, will form a panel to focus on student concerns. At the suggestion booths, students may also receive information about the SGA and get an update on this semester’s events and projects. One of the projects SGA is working on is raising the student activity fee in order to build a new recreation center for students. According to Paul Whatley, SGA president, West Georgia’s recreational facilities are far behind what they should be, compared to the rising number of students.
